We dressed Maddi up as a ladybug for Halloween. She was so cute! However, we didn't actually take her trick-or-treating. Moss' sister, Stacy, and her boyfriend stopped by on their way to a Halloween party and we all sat outside on the front steps and let Maddi run around on the sidewalk while we handed out candy to all the trick-or-treaters. We had a great time for her first Halloween! Here are the pics!

TCU Homecoming
Saturday was TCU's homecoming, which is Moss' alma mater, so we spent the entire day out in Fort Worth. We started off in the morning at the alumni swim meet. For those of you who don't know, Moss was on the swim team while at TCU. The alumni swim meet starts off with the current swim team members walking out of the dressing room carrying a stretcher overhead with a dummy strapped to it and singing "The Ol' Gray Mare She Ain't What She Used To Be" and then unceremoniously tossing it into the pool. I should have gotten a picture of that but didn't think of it. Then some of the current swimmers challenge alumni to races. And then after that is Animal Ball with the alumni versus the Varsity. All the guys get into the pool and the girls stand at the ends with kick boards. The object is to bat around a beach ball and eventually get it to touch on the ground on the opposing team's side. The opposing team's girls obviously try to prevent this from happening by batting the ball away with the kick boards. And usually the guys try to drown each other, and the girls end up jumping into the pool trying to defend their goal, and atleast one beach ball gets popped. The alumni, by the way, skunked the Varsity, 5-0! They long ago learned that instead of trying to bat it over the girls' heads they should instead try to wrestle it down low. Which apparently works mucn better. Maddi and I had a great time watching!
Then we had some time to kill before the game. And here I must pause to brag on my beautiful, wonderful daughter. We were dragging her in and out of the car all day and she never once fussed! She was great! We went to lunch at Chili's so we could watch some of Texas Tech beating Kansas! Woo Hoo! Then we went to the bookstore. But it was way crowded so we didn't stay long. Then it was off to the tailgate! We parked pretty far out and had to walk about 20 minutes to get there. And Maddi was a trooper! We hung out and ate for awhile and really enjoyed getting to see some of Moss' fraternity brothers and college buddies and their families. We watched the first half of the game and then headed out for the trek back to the car. It was about 7:00 and about Maddi's bedtime. We changed her into her PJs and gave her a bottle for the ride home. She was passed out cold by the time we got there. Moss got her out of the car and put her straight to bed. She woke up a little but never made a peep after we shut her door! What an angel!
Anyway, to say the least, we were wore out by Sunday! We had a great time seeing everyone and can't wait for next year! By the way, TCU did end up beating Wyoming 54-7!

And again. A little harder to pick him out here.
The girls trying to defend their side.
About to score...
And the alumni score! Yay!!
At the tailgate.
Some of the older kids play out in this grassy area. She just walked right out there not even once looking back at us! I couldn't believe it! She was ready to join right in and play ball! The director at her school says she is doing the same thing at school. They are currently transitioning her to the toddler room which she says "wigs" some of the kids out. But she says Maddi just goes with the flow and joins right in!
At the game with Daddy.
Passed Out! Needless to say with all the trekking around, Maddi did not get her usual naps in. She finally crashed during the game and slept through all the noise of the crowd and band. When she woke up, TCU had just scored so there was tons of noise from everyone cheering and clapping. She had the most sleepy and confused look on her face, but she started clapping, too! It was soooo cute!

Baby June
Our friends Mark and Mandy had their baby girl on September 29 and we FINALLY made it over to visit on Wednesday. Her name is June Ashley and she is just precious! She is so tiny! It is hard to remember when Maddi was that little. Of course, Maddi truly was never that little because she weighed almost 2 lbs more than June at birth, but you know what I mean! We had a great time and can't wait to see how she grows!

Our Weekend in Houston
We were in Houston this weekend to visit Moss' parents and grandma (and so I could get my CME credits from the conference that was supposed to be in Galvestion but got relocated to Houston after Ike hit.) We had a great time visiting with them and they enjoyed seeing Maddi again! Maddi was pretty good the entire time. She slept well while we were there and generally enjoyed all her new surroundings. She was slightly fussy in the car ride home but was in a GREAT mood when we got home. I guess babies feel the same way we adults do: There's no place like home!
