23 Months Old

And so the countdown begins. It is officially one more month until my baby turns 2! Wow. I still can't believe it. Where has the time gone? We took pictures outside today. I used the wrong lens so many of them came out blurry. Oh well. I decided to still post some of them because they still looked so darn cute...blurry and all. Enjoy!

Just Some Maddi Pics

This one came out blurry, but I think it is so cute!!! FYI: For some reason, Maddi has recently taken to calling Bob (her monkey), Bobby. No idea why.

Poor Little Finger!! : (

So a couple of weeks ago, poor little Maddi got her hand slammed in the big metal door at school that goes from their classroom to the playground. When I picked her up and they told me about it, her fingers were puffy and red, but she seemed okay. I actually forgot about it for a few days until I went to wipe her hands off after dinner and she pulled her hand away from me. I noticed that her nail did not look good. I suspected she might lose her nail...and I was right. After about a week she actually didn't seem to let on that it bothered her other than when you tried to look at it. I took pictures along the way as it died and fell off.

These are just a few days after it happened. You can see the nail starting to turn white.

Here, it had completely died and had lifted away from the nail bed and was just hanging on.

I clipped it back some here, but she had snagged it on something and it had bled a little. Sorry if you have a squeamish stomach with stuff like this!!

It was a couple of days after this that it fell completely off. I think it was ripped the rest of the way off while at school. Needless to say, I was not happy about the injury at all. I know it is tough to keep an eye on all kids all the time. But you would think, that with that kind of door, your number one priority while herding kids in and out would be to make sure all fingers are clear of the door before it closes!! The nail is already starting to grow back. But I hope they feel bad!! Because I sure do!

22 Months Old

Okay so I am way late with this one!!! I am not going to write any updates now. I'll save that for the 23 month update in a couple of weeks. These pics, however, were taken on her 22 month birthday. I will say that the shirt she is wearing in the pic, which she calls her "fwag shirt" was her favorite one of that week. This was the first encounter we had really had with a favorite piece of clothing. She wore the shirt to school twice that week (yes, clean) and to bed twice that week (no, not clean). I guess I better get used to that! And, yes, she's wearing too small ballet shoes.

Labor Day Weekend Pics

I am soooo behind on my posting! I am going to try to catch up in the next few days. These were from Labor Day Weekend. Moss was hunting so I went out to my parents house so Maddi could play with the cousins again. You'll have to excuse her homeless child appearance! But she was having fun, what can I say?

My mom had pulled out a bathing suit she had at the house and of course Maddi wanted to wear it. Then she wanted Sadee to wear the shirt she had been wearing. Which Sadee did obligingly! So funny.

They actually play really well together now. It is so fun to watch them!
