Weekend at Grandma & Grandpa's

We went to The Woodlands this weekend to watch Moss' dad run in a triathlon. Maddi did pretty good on the trip. After our last HORRIBLE trip home where she cried 75% of the trip, I gave in and bought a travel DVD player for the next time. We let her watch movies off and on at home. I try to keep it to a minimum and I always choose somewhat educational ones like Baby Einstein or Sesame Street. She likes them and has even learned the word "movie." And I'll admit, it really helps to have an extra 30 minutes every once in awhile in the evenings after I've picked her up to get dinner ready. Well, we tried the DVD player out on our trip this time, and it worked wonderfully! She only had one minor meltdown on the way there and was an absolute angel on the way back!! But, I'm afraid that just this one trip has spoiled her! Now every time we get in the car she asks for "Elmo." And when I brought her home today, she was asking to watch a "movie." We have created a monster!! Oh, and when we watch the Elmo movies, every time there is a section without Elmo, she repeats "Elmo" over and over until I fast forward to Elmo again. Sheesh, she's not spoiled or anything!

Anyway, we had a great time at the triathlon and Moss' dad came in first in his age division. We took the wagon to walk down and watch. On the way back, Maddi was falling asleep in the wagon and her head was bobbing all over! It was so funny and cute! I had to get a picture of course. On Sunday morning, Moss and his dad took Maddi down to the pond in their neighborhood to feed the turtles which she really enjoyed. All in all, we had a great weekend, even if it was short! We will get to see them in a couple of weeks when we stop in on our way to Corpus Christi for vacation! Yay! I can't wait!

She found this soccer ball which was quite dirty and she didn't want to touch it with her hands at first. Silly girl!
