Maddi had spring pictures taken at daycare today. I think they came out pretty cute. Despite the fact they didn't straighten her bow...oh well. I think that's just the perfectionist in me talking!

Water Baby!
Today was Maddi's fourth swim lesson! We moved on to working on submerging them underwater! I have been dreading and anticipating this part for awhile. Their goal is to get them to submerge for 5-6 seconds by the end of the semester which just seems impossible to me at this age. But I assume they know what they are doing and I trust them. Especially with a couple of babies in our class who are just 7 or 8 months old! We just started with submerging them for about 1-2 seconds. Every class we do an exercise where we pass the babies to the instructor and she passes them back. This time when she passed them back she put them underwater. Maddi was quite surprised by this! She acted like she wanted to get upset but the instructor is really good and started praising her immediately and giving her a high five and Maddi started smiling. We did that a lot during the lesson and she got kind of used to it. A couple times she opened her mouth right before she went under and got a mouth full of water which she didn't like. So, hopefully she'll figure out quickly not to do that. But overall I was so proud of her! She never cried or fussed once with being dunked! I'm still skeptical about her doing that for 5-6 seconds...but we shall see!

Little Gym Videos
Here are a few short videos that Stacy took while we were at Little Gym. All of them are less than a minute. But they kind of show what Maddi has been learning!

Sadee's Hawaiian Birthday Party
My niece Sadee turned 1 on Sunday!! I just can't believe how time flies! I still remember when her and Maddi were just newborns together. This just doesn't seem right. Sadee had a Hawaiian birthday party. My mom bought the girls matching dresses for it and they all looked adorable. Here are some pics from the party!
Maddi with her lei. She actually wore this around for a couple of hours without taking it off which amazed me.

Our Crazy Busy Weekend!
I am already slightly behind on posting some pics from last weekend and then this weekend was very busy. So I am almost at a loss on where to begin. I'll go ahead and start with this weekend, though. Moss' parents and grandma came into town for the weekend. They got here on Friday just in time to go to swim lessons with us! They had a great time watching Maddi. And since Moss made it we actually got some pics this time during the lesson! She is still loving it and I can't wait to see how much she learns by the end of the semester.
On Saturday, Moss' dad and sister came to Little Gym with us. They really enjoyed watching her do all her tricks she's learned. And Stacy actually got to video a lot of the class! That will be for a later post though. It will take me a while to upload the videos!
Sunday, we went to breakfast before his family left town. We went to our usual place, Mimi's Cafe. Which is very yummy if you have never been! Then we went straight from there to Sadee's, my niece's, 1st birthday party! Those pics will also be in a post to follow. We'll just start with these for now!
Maddi in her cute green bathing suit! This is the third one if you have lost count!

Swimming after the rubber duckies!
Jumping from the side to Mommy. This is what turned her around to liking the pool during the first lesson. She loves this and is not scared one bit!
Back floating. She's looking at herself in a mirror.
