Pumpkin Patch

We finally made it to the pumpkin patch today!! I have been wanting to go since it opened but the weather has not cooperated. And as much as I wanted to go, I couldn't see dragging Maddi out there to traipse around in the mud. The problem was, that everyone in the Lewisville/Flower Mound area and beyond had the same idea this weekend. There are actually 2 pumpkin patches side by side where we go. Every year we have gone to the smaller one. We would usually plan on starting at the small one and then crossing the fence to the larger one, but after an hour or so we would be beat and just never make it over there. So this year I wanted to start at the larger one. Big mistake! While it does have a lot more stuff to do over there, it draws so many more people because of that and it just seems much more crowded than the smaller one. They have some cool bounce houses but she was really only big enough for the one little kid one. But there were about 4 or 5 total all shoved within a foot of each other making it difficult to get your kid on and off them. And the others had so many kids on them, I think I would have freaked out to let her on them even if she were old enough. I was picturing major injuries or her getting lost in the shuffle and someone running off with her.I really wish we would have just gone to the same one we've been to before. But Maddi and I are going again next week with my mom and Kaily and Sadee. We made sure to go this weekend, too, because Moss will not be here next weekend. So we will just stick to the original one I think.

Maddi, as usual, had her own ideas of what she wanted to do and was less than cooperative for us getting pictures. I really have to try and remember sometimes that taking pictures is not a kid's idea of fun. There were so many other fun things around I can understand that sitting still for pictures would be the exact opposite of what an almost 2 year old would want to do. But, I tried anyway. I went through the pictures just now and really they aren't as bad as I thought. I couldn't get many with her actually looking at the camera but they are still cute. We only stayed about an hour and half before leaving. Which caused a complete meltdown on her part. I hope next weekend will be better.

Maddi was totally into her sunglasses again today. She wore them in the truck the whole way there and for about 30 minutes after we got there. I kept trying to get her to take them off for pictures, but she wasn't having it!

When we first got there, she wouldn't even let me set her on the ground. I was thinking "Great!" But then we got the wagon and she wanted to pull it. So that helped her warm up a little.

Finally decided to get in the wagon and let us pull her around some.

This was typical of about half our time there. Maddi crying because she wanted to do something other than what we were doing.

In the bounce house. Still wearing the sunglasses.

She finally pushed them up on her head because they kept sliding down her nose when she would jump. We finally convinced her to bring them to us to hold. She was so cute! Once she understood what we were saying, she pulled them off, folded them up, and walked over to hand them to Moss through the netting. I know it may sound stupid, and it is such a little thing, but she just seemed so much older to me watching her do that.

Hanging out with Dora and Boots.

An attempt at a family pic.
