Gingerbread House

So once again I am way behind on blogging. This was from a couple weekends ago. Moss was once again hunting so I went to my mom's with Maddi. I bought a gingerbread house kit to take with me so the girl could do it. My mom had coincidentally bought one as well so we had two! The girls had a great time! Mom and Kaily worked on one while I had the little girls! It was tough trying to keep them from putting their feet through it (they climbed on the table as you will see!) as well as trying to keep them from eating it before we were finished! Mom's and Kaily's ended up falling apart so ours was the winner believe it or not! Ha! We decided maybe next year we will make it a contest between our three families! Can't wait!

Santa and Christmas Pics

Finally getting around to posting Maddi's Santa pic. We actually had this done a couple weeks ago. Maddi's school had a Santa come in for pictures one day at the end of November. Although she did well with him last year, not so much this year. She was screaming and crying so much her face was red. I tossed the proofs. So I decided to try something a little different. A friend of ours works in a photography studio that brings a Santa in as well. I thought this might provide a somewhat better and calmer environment. I prepared Maddi all week by telling her we would be going to see Santa. She wasn't too thrilled when we talked about it. But when we got there she warmed up after a few minutes and did great!! I couldn't believe we actually got her to sit on his lap! There were actually a lot of cute ones but I didn't want to spend a fortune on these so I picked just this one. It's scanned in so the quality stinks, but still cute!

Then we did these today which I think turned out cute! Again, they are scanned in but it will have to do!

You can't tell, but her boots are hot pink with red ribbon for laces!

New York City Rockettes

I had a very busy weekend! In addition to the ICE exhibit on Sunday, I went to the Rockettes Christmas show at Nokia on Saturday. It was originally supposed to be just my mom, niece, and I going. We thought the little girls, Maddi and Sadee, would not enjoy sitting through this. But at the last minute, Sadee ended up coming because my sister needed someone to watch her. So that's why there is no Maddi in these pics. She had a fun day with Daddy! And we had a great time at the show! Sadee did pretty good. She got a little fussy during the second half but overall it was fine.

ICE!!!

I have been wanting to go to the ICE! exhibit at the Gaylord for awhile now and this year we finally managed it! The theme this year is How The Grinch Stole Christmas. It was a lot of fun but next year I would definitely try to go on a week day or as early as possible on a weekend! 2:3o on a Sunday...not a good time to go. I bought tickets on line for a specific time but that didn't mean really anything. They were letting everyone in anyway! We just didn't have to stand in line to buy tickets. The line was about 45 minutes long. They handed out the blue parkas while we were in line. We waited until we got up to the corner we thought the entrance was around and we all put our coats on. We turned the corner though and just saw a sea of blue! It was like another 30 minutes to get in at that point. I had my coat on under their parka plus a scarf and hat. I was dying!! But you don't want to take it all off because number one you still have to carry it all and number two you have all your purses and diaper bags you are carrying too! We finally got in and even though it was chilly, since we were so hot to start with it didn't really seem all that bad! I had brought gloves but everyone else's hands got pretty cold. So I would suggest gloves! The line for the slide stunk too. I was the only one to go up with Kaily and Maddi because Maddi was crying to go down the slide. So, like a good mom, I took her. But when I got up there, they wouldn't let me slide because I had heels on my boots! I was so mad! I had to send the two girls down and walk back down the stairs through the line going against the flow! They wouldn't even let me take them off and slide in my socks. The girl told me I could trade shoes with someone...but I was like "Hello...do you see anyone else with me?" So dumb. But we made it out of there with some good pics!

This is just the entrance sign. It's not made out of ice.

They have a guy taking pictures about halfway through the line that you can buy afterwards. Ours turned out good! This is scanned in so the quality doesn't look all that great here. This is where we thought we were going to get to go in but then we turned the corner and...ahhh!

Sadee in her parka.

Sadee and Uncle Michael.

I had come prepared with Maddi's big coat, a fleece jacket under that, and then she was wearing a sweater. I put one of my scarfs on her plus a hat! She was toasty! I forgot her gloves but her jacket was big enough for her to slide her hands in the sleeves.

Finally inside! This is the first ice sculpture we saw.

Sadee fell asleep! How can she sleep in 9 degree temperatures?

Kaily going down the slide.

Maddi at the top of the slide.

The girl layed her down to slide. She also had to put a blue parka on to slide on. Which meant she now had 3 coats on, on top of a sweater! She could barely move!

She got to the bottom and couldn't move because of all the coats. She was waving her arms around until one them at the bottom grabbed her! Too funny!

She had had enough here.
