Fort Worth Stock Show and Rodeo 2010

We went to the rodeo this weekend in Fort Worth. This was officially Maddi's 3rd rodeo! It gets better each year with her because she is able to enjoy more things. She LOVED seeing all the animals this time! She even enjoyed the rodeo again! I was worried she wouldn't want to sit through it but we had no trouble with her at all! She was so wound up that even though she had only had a 20 minute nap that morning on the way there in the car, that she didn't even fall asleep on the hour ride car trip home! I was shocked! She passed out as soon as she got into bed though! Can't wait for next year!

We did the pictures on the pony first thing so that we could catch the girls in a good mood! : )

I wasn't sure Maddi would sit on the pony because she didn't last year. But once she saw Sadee and Kaily do it she did great!

My cute little cowgirl!

Eating lunch.

Sadee and Sissi.

Kaily!

Maddi excited when the rodeo was starting and all the horses came out. Bob was excited too!

Wild hair!

Not sure what was happening here! I was wearing the hat because neither one of the girls wanted to at the time and we were of limited space so that was the best place to put it. Not sure why Maddi has that shocked look on her face!

She must not have wanted her picture taken here but I wanted to post it because it was the only one I had of her in the hat. My mom has some on her camera so once I get those I will post them.

Maddi very interested in Beauregard. She wouldn't pet him though. Funny, because she pet him last year!

See her oh-so-cute pink John Deere boots?!

Do you see that little stuffed horse she has in her hand? Yep, our little klepto got that for the five-finger discount! They had these tables stuffed with toys they were selling outside the rodeo. I had already made it clear that since I missed the beginning of the rodeo last year, I was not going to miss it this year! We were on our way in and we stopped for my Dad to go to the restroom. When he was done, we started to go to our seats but my mom had been suckered by the kids to stop at one of the tables. She said she was going to let them look and buy them something but I said, no, we could wait until after. I took Maddi's hand and walked forward with her. My mom went ahead and paid for the other girls and when I stopped to (not so patiently--can you tell I hate being late?) wait for them, I noticed Maddi was holding the horse. When my mom caught up I asked her if she had paid for that also and she said no. By then we were way past the table and it would have meant going against traffic and possibly being late to our seats to go back. So we decided to go back and pay after the rodeo. But then we forgot. So I feel bad about that but it is kind of a funny story!

Looking at some baby chicks. What a cute little cowgirl butt!

She loved looking at the pigs!

An Angel Gets His Wings

My grandfather passed away today. It wasn't totally unexpected but it was still hard to take when I got the news today. Luckily, we had spent some time with him on New Years Day when we were down in Houston. I didn't take pictures that day because it truly wasn't how I wanted to remember him. This is a picture of Maddi and I with him back in May. The last picture we took with him. I hope he his truly happier where he is now. We love you, Peepaw.

Maddi's New Ballet Class

Maddi had her first ballet class on Saturday. It is still a mommy and me class. I look forward to the day I can watch as an observer. But at the moment she still needs some help focusing. She was a little all over the place! The mirrors in the room were fascinating to her and all she wanted to do was run over to them. She would stop and actually try some of the things but then would go wild again until I focused her back. I struggled with whether or not to start her in this class because this makes 3 activities she is in this semester: swim, gymnastics, and dance. But I decided I wanted her exposed to a lot of things and if it seemed too much for her then I would just pull her out of one. But she truly seems to love them all. And it definitely tires her out which is good for mom and dad! She has so much energy! Today we were wishing we had a class to go to to drain some of that energy. She drove us up the wall a little bit. Anyway, here are some cute pictures of her in her ballet outfit! I think she is just the cutest little ballerina!

White Christmas 2009

Finally getting my Christmas pics up!! I have been super busy ever since that I haven't really had a chance. We went out to my parents for Christmas, cam back and worked, went the next weekend to Houston to have Christmas with the Fennell side, came back and worked. My house is a wreck with suitcases and presents that need to be unpacked. And I am completely exhausted because we have been super busy at work! But finally, I have a chance to post!

Christmas was great with all the snow! I remember when it snowed at the beginning of the month and I thought to myself how neat it would have been if it had waited until Christmas! But I didn't have to worry because it snowed again! We were actually driving out to my parents' house when it started snowing pretty hard. By the time we got there it started actually sticking to the ground. It quickly became blizzard type conditions. But we didn't want the kids to miss this experience so we bundled them up to take them out for pictures and to play in the snow! Believe it or not they didn't want to come back in but we were cold!

Maddi had a great Christmas! She still didn't get the whole Christmas think but she's getting close. She knows who Santa is and that he brings presents but I think next year will be the big year! Her favorite movie for about two weeks was Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer and then after that, Frosty the Snowman. Luckily, I think she is now moving on to Finding Nemo!

Hope everyone had a great Holiday season!

Setting out cookies and milk for Santa!

Going up to bed Christmas Eve!

This was Moss' special present to Maddi. If you have never read the Llama Llama books by Anna Dewdney you need to! They are super cute. We had Llama Llama Red Pajama first which is my fave! All moms can relate to it! Then we had Llama Llama Mad At Mama which is cute too. Moss found Llama Llama Misses Mama and Maddi was so excited! She says it "Ama Ama."

Playing barrel of monkeys with Uncle Michael.

Christmas Day. The snow was starting to melt so I got Maddi out to play in it one more time.

Talking to Coco the donkey.

At Chili's the next day. She kept wanting to give me hugs! Sweet girl!
