Our Plumbing Disaster

So about a week before Christmas we were having some plumbing issues at the house so we called a plumber to come take a look. He told us that we had roots growing around our pipes which had cracked them and we were looking at some serious repairs. He cleared out what he could to get us by until we decided what to do but he told us the real repairs would cost $2200 (Yikes!). We were just about to get our roof done, too, to repair the hail damage we got last spring. Needless to say that has been put on hold temporarily. They aren't kidding when they say when it rains it pours.

So we got through Christmas and then on New Years the pipes all started backing up again. So the temporary clean out did not get us far. So, since plumbing is something you definitely can't do without for long, Moss called and found another plumber to come out Friday. He told us the damage was worse than what the first guy told us and said it would cost $3200 (Double yikes!). But he said they could get it done that day. So we said just do it and get it done. And, of course, as they got further into the job they found other issues and the price just went up from there. So, $4700 later, we now have our plumbing issues back in order. However, we have a mess for a yard. They had to tear out some bushes from in front of the house and there's a pile of dirt in the yard. Now we have to figure out what to do with that. I have no idea. Anyway, here are some pictures of what our yard looks like now following our plumbing disaster.

That is horrible. I hate when things go wrong with the house. We had to replace all the hot & cold water pipes in our house. I feel for you.
